Using the Butter Crock

To keep your butter safe and handy on your kitchen counter:

Pack softened butter into the top “bell” portion of the butter crock. Fill the bottom portion of the butter crock about halfway with cold water. Insert the top “bell’ into to bottom crock and cold water. The cold water acts as a seal, protecting the butter. Change the water every few days.

NOTE: In this case, salt is a preservative,either the butter or water needs to be salted.
